ACCOMMODATIONAccommodation is in private rooms with ensuite bathrooms. No two rooms are the same (!), but basically there are three categories: Mezzanine rooms - with a double bed and a further single bed on a mezzanine, suitable for single / double / triple occupation. Shutters open on the facade of the house with views up the cobbled Rua Costa Bastos to where the famous bonde (yellow tram) passes. One has further views over the city, another its own veranda. Villa rooms - double / triple / quadruple rooms on the ground floor of the Villa. Cool and shady with high ceilings, accessed via the garden passages on either side of the Villa. One has the Villa's original antique furniture. Another has a shower cut into the granite foundations. Wooden or slate floors with ornately carved beds. Terrace rooms - a double / triple room with its own kitchen and another large room / apartment that can accommodate up to 8 people. Fantastic views over the gardens to the metropolis. On a clear day you can see the rock formations of Petropolis on the horizon, over 100km away. Wireless internet is available throughout the Villa and is free for guests. Catering and EntertainmentBreakfast is served in a beautiful outdoor lounge where you can sunbathe, spot monkeys raiding the trees for mangoes or relax over a caipirinha or two in the evening. Guests enjoy use of a fully-equipped communal kitchen, besides the barbecue facilities in the bar area. We host regular parties in the bar with live samba bands and renowned Cariocan DJs. There are weekly outings to Lapa and samba shows around town.
